About Us

Here at ‘The Pigsty’ we are professional furniture re-designers, taking once loved furniture and giving it a new lease of life.

Each piece of furniture that leaves our workshop has been skilfully restored and refurbished before any decorative finish is applied. Where we can, we prefer to leave as much of the original wood and design as possible in order to preserve the integrity of the piece. 

Eddie is the one with the knowledge and skills after being in the trade for 45 years as a carpenter. His craftsmanship ensures that all the furniture we create is finished to the highest standard. Carrie, a retired (very early!) primary school teacher, is happy to to put her creative skills and art degree to good use after many years with no time to do so. Together we both designed and physically built our home ‘The Pigsty’ using mainly reclaimed material. We have continued to upcycle and refurbish furniture within it for the 28 years we have been here. 
Ed is enthused by the idea of doing this for other people now, instead of using the newly felled wood that he has been required to use in the past.
